IRC - Palermo-Monte Carlo - Day 1

Yesterday, the start to the offshore race Palermo-Monte Carlo was given. A record-size fleet was at the start with 57 yachts, among them 6 Maxis. As expected, the 88-foot-Maxi 'Rambler' with Brad Butterworth NZL steering took the lead. The record time is 47 hrs 45 min of the Super-Maxi 'Esimit Europa 2'. It has to be seen, whether this record will be beaten in the prevailing moderate winds around 8 kn. The report.
