IMOCA Open 60, Class 40, Multi 50, Ultime Transat Jacques Vabre Le Havre FRA Day 4
The leading two big Ultime-Trimarans have accelerated their speeds even more, and - having covered 684 miles in 24hrs - Thomas Coville/Jean-Luc Nélias FRA on their 'Sodebo' have taken the lead during the past night. The previously leading 'Edmond de Rothschild' of Sébastien Josse/Thomas Rouxel FRA was too far East, and the VMG was obviously down when heading West to reach more favorable winds. He was 54nm behind this morning on rank 2.
No change in the other three classes. Jean-Pierre Dick/Yann Eliès FRA are first in the Open 60s. Phil Sharp GBR/Pablo Santurde ESP stay on rank 1. In the Multi 50, the duel on top goes on with Lalou Roucayrol FRA/Alex Pella ESP 6nm ahead of Erwan Le Roux/Vincent Riou FRA. During the past night, the Multi 50 'Drekan' with Eric Defert/Christopher Pratt FRA/GBR capsized 300nm East of the Acores. The team is ok, waiting for the rescue action. Here the news.
