In the past 24 hours, the leading two Ultime-Trimarans have crossed the innertropical convergence zone with its unconstant winds. The leading 'Sodebo Ultime' with Thomas Coville/Jean-Luc Nélias FRA is now 23nm ahead and has reached the southern trade winds accelerating on over 20kn, while the second-placed 'Edmond de Rothschild' (Sébastien Josse/Thomas Rouxel FRA) is still fighting in the Doldrums with speeds around 13kn.
The Multi-50-Trimarans are now on th Cape Verdes latitude and Erwan Le Roux/ Vincent Riou FRA have extended their lead on 64nm.
The gaps between the boats increased also in the Open 60, where Jean-Pierre Dick/Yann Eliès FRA are now 47nm in front of Paul Meilhat/Gwenolé Gahinet FRA. Alan Roura SUI/Fréderic Denis FRA remain on the 10th position.
No change in the Class 40 as well with Phil Sharp GBR/Pablo Santurde ESP leading 30nm ahead of Maxime Sorel/Antoine Carpentier FRA. Justine Mettraux SUI/Bertrand Delesne FRA stay on rank 4 with a 58nm backlog.
