Mini 650 MiniTransat Las Palmas ESP Leg 2 Day 12, the Swiss
Roughly 300nm were left for Ian Lipinski POL to the finish line in Le Marin this morning. Yesterday's Etmal was 221nm, and, keeping this pace, he would arrive by tomorrow evening already. Winner of the day in the Protos was Jörg Riechers GER on rank 2, who reduced the backlog on the leader to 123nm, thanks to fresher winds on his southern course. Simon Koster SUI as 3rd is now 30nm behind Riechers.
No change on top of the Series Minis: Erwan Le Draoulec FRA extended his lead on Clarisse Crémer FRA to 82nm. Thomas Dolan FRA on 3rd reduced the gap to the French woman on 18nm. The final overall ranking is still undecided between Erwan Le Draoulec FRA and Clarisse Crémer FRA, separated by 8hrs in the leg one finish in favour of the French woman. All depends on the approch to Martnique, whether Crémer succeeds to defend the 8h advantage over Le Draoulec and become the first woman to win the Mini Transat. Valentin Gautier SUI lost a place to Tanguy Bouroullec FRA yesterday, who is - as Jörg Riechers in the Protos - 3-4kn faster on his southern route. As 7th, the Swiss is 157nm behind the first.
