Foiling Technology - for more than 100 years a topic - documentary film

Tuesday, November 14, 2017
The foiling technology has changed high-performance sailing in the past 10 years. Beginning with the flying Moths, more and more boats have been equipped with foils, from smaller and larger multihulls and dinghies to the America's Cuppers, Ocean Racers and wind- and kitesurfer boards, allowing to race at superior speeds.
The documentary film 'Flying Boats' presents the history of the foiler technology, beginning in the early 20th Century already. On November 21, the Premiere of this film will take place at the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne SUI, an evening dedicated to foiling with short presentations such as the flying experiences of 'Team Tilt' or the successful series-production foiling boats of the Quant Shipyard, the leading-edge boats in the Swiss regatta scene already now. The latest model, the Quant 17, will be exposed in Lucerne. Here the presentation video.
The foiling evening will begin at 18.15h CET in the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne. Here the details.
