Star - U30-World Championship - Miami FL, USA - Day 1

Sunshine and a light 5 to 8 kn breeze welcomed the 36 teams on the opening day of the inaugural Star Junior World Championship on Biscayne Bay / Miami FL. The age limit is valid for the helmsmen and not the crews. Luke Lawrence/Alexey Selivanov USA won the only race held ahead of the Laser Radial Youth World Champion Guido Gallinaro ITA (with Frithjof Kleen GER) and Robert + Peter O'Leary IRL. The teams of Lake Constance (Koch/Seeberger GER, rank 30) and Lake Geneva (Hugo Fedrigucci FRA/Sébastien Guidoux SUI, rank 36) were not at ease on the unknown waters.
