IMOCA Open 60 Vendee Globe 2020 the Paralympic Champion Damien Seguin FRA plans to participate
At the last Route du Rhum in autumns 2018, Damien Séguin FRA finished on the remarkable 6th final rank. The four-times Paralympian (2x Gold and 1x Silver in the 2.4m keelboat) has been offshore racing for over 10 years. Last year, he migrated to the Open-60-class. Now, the main sponsor 'Apicil' decided to prolongate his support and Séguin can plan to participate in the Vendée Globe as first disabled sailor. Born with only one hand, he mastered all sailing challenges so far, and for the forthcoming round-the-world adventure, the only modification at the Open 60 will be a special glove to allow him to handle the winch with both arms.
Here his video interview about the project.
