The overall TP52 win went to 'Quantum Racing' of Doug DeVos USA (with Ed Baird USA) six points ahead of 'Platoon' of Harm Muller Spreer GER on 2nd, tied with 'Azzurra' of the Roemers family ARG/ITA. The 10 boat fleet is now heading for Menorca where the first event of the 2019 TP52 Super Series will be held in a week.
In the IRC class bigboats, the overall win was handed to 'Vera', the Reichel Pugh 83 footer of Miguel Galuccio ITA (with Bouwe Bekking NED), as their only rival 'Magic Carpet 3' of Sir Lindsay Owen Jones GBR did not race yesterday.
Club Swan42s held the top three places in ORC 1, with 'Dralion' of Pit Finnis on first in this 21 boat fleet, the biggest class at the regatta.
In the Dragon class, the leading RORC CEO Eddie Owen was replaced on top by Otto Pohlmann GER and his team one point ahead.
Perfect champagne sailing conditions, a solid Bay-of-Palma sea breeze of up to 20 knots and spring sunshine, signed off the 16th Sail Racing Palma Vela regattas as one of the very best for many years, a competitive work out of the 110 teams for the season ahead.
