Optimist World Championship 2019 English Harbour ANT Day 1, the Swiss
Challenging conditions prevailed on the first day of the Optimist World Championship in Antigua with fresh, shifty winds, big waves, currents and sea weed. After two races with the fleet split in four groups, Richard Schultheis MLT is on rank one with two bullets, followed by Ian Walker RSA and Jack Redmond USA. The double World Champion Marco Gradoni ITA is also well positioned on rank 5. The Swiss are apparently not at ease with the conditions and only Boris Hirsch SUI on rank 81 is among the top-100. Simon Mille SUI is 129th. Pablo Hämmerle LIE follows as 132nd among the 254 participants from 64 nations.
