The final two races at the 420 World Championship in Portugal, held in a 10kn breeze, removed Seb Menzies/Blake McGlashan NZL, defending champions and leaders during the whole event, from rank one in the Open rankings. Martin Vizner/Pedro Ameneiro ESP earned the Gold Medal ahead of the Kiwis. Bronze went to Conrad Konitzer/Fernando Rodriguez ESP. Nilo Schärer/Nik Burkhard SUI finished 32nd as best Swiss. Alexander Grognuz/Simeo Vollmer SUI followed on rank 40. Achille Casco/Elliot Schick SUI booked a race win and a premature start disqualification in the Silverfleet and ended on rank 3 (= 48th overall). Leon Fröhlich/Nathan Zwick SUI follow on the 50th position.
In the 420 Women, Vita Heathcote/Milly Boyle GBR remained on top with Irene Calici/Petra Gregori ITA and Melina Pappa/Maria Tsamopoulou GRE completing the podium. Natascha and Samira Rast SUI finished on rank 12.
No change on the ranks one and two of the U17 with Odysseas Spanakis/Konstaninos Michalopoulos GRE earning the title ahead of Ange Delerce/Timothée Rossi FRA. Alberto Morales/Miguel Bethencourt ESP are 3rd. Malin Karlsson/Myrlin Tappolet SUI, best Swiss, are 25th.
