F50-Catamaran - SailGP - Act 4 - Cowes GBR - Final results

Monday, August 12, 2019
Much action in Cowes GBR yesterday during Act 4 of SailGP thanks to winds around 25kn. Team USA of Rome Kirby USA capsized within 30 seconds of the start of race one, but surprisingly was able to compete during the rest of the day. Less lucky was Team GBR of Dylan Fletcher GBR taking a violent nose dive on the penultimate leg of the first race that prevented them from finishing racing. Outstanding was Team AUS of Tom Slingsby AUS dominating all three races and becoming the first crew to break the 50-knot speed barrier in sail racing. Team JPN of Nathan Outteridge AUS, at the top of the leaderboard one point ahead of the Slingsby going into Cowes, had a crash down from the foils in race one causing a break of one of its grinding pedestals, drastically decreasing performance and never had a chance to challenge Team AUS. -----The leaderboard, the news and the video of the day. ----- Next stop will be the SailGP Final in Marseille FRA, where the SailGP championship trophy and $1 million awaits the season winner.
