IMOCA Open 60, Class 40, Multi 50 Transat Jacques Vabre Day 5
Racing down South, numerous position changes happened yesterday in the variable wind conditions on the Atlantic Ocea, even with a leader change in the Multi-50s, where Sébastien Rogues/Matthieu Souben FRA are new on position one. The three Trimarans have now reached the trade winds North of the Canary Islands. ----- The Open 60s are spread even more. The most westerly boats veered South only yesterday just before the Acores, and are now waiting for the frontal system with strong west winds hoping for a fast ride to the Equator. Their backlog on the leading group having taken the traditional route is over 300nm. The co-favorites Alex Thompson/Neal McDonald GBR on the 22nd place had a 316nm deficit this morning UTC. ----- Sailing along the Coast of Morocco, 'Apivia' with Charlie Dalin/Yann Eliès FRA is still in the overall lead 6nm ahead of 'Charal' with Jérémy Béyou FRA/Christopher Pratt GBR. Clarisse Cremer/Armel Le Cléac'h FRA as 3rd on their 'Banque Populaire' are already 50nm behind the leading duo. ----- In der Class 40, Louis Duc/Aurélien Ducroz FRA and Kito De Pavant/Achille Nébout FRA are sailing neck and neck along the Portuguese Coast. ----- The race tracker, the news and the videos.
