aIMOCA Open 60 - Vendée Globe - Les Sables d'Olonne FRA - Day 6, Alan Roura SUI

Saturday, November 14, 2020
The Vendée Globe fleet had a restless night, as west of the low Theta, the wind exceeded 50kn in some areas. In the prevailing rough conditions, the old generation Open 60s without foils performed a little better than the new designs with foils.----- Alex Thomson GBR ('Hugo Boss', Foiler) was still leading the fleet this morning UTC, but Jean Le Cam FRA ('Yes we Cam', Non-Foiler) moved up to 3.3nm. Benjamin Dutreux FRA ('OMIA', Non-Foiler) is the second non-Foiler to take third place, 60nm behind. Damien Seguin FRA ('Apicil', Non-Foiler), the leader of the first two days of racing, moved up to 6th place, 98nm behind. Still best-classified woman is Samantha Davis GBR ('Initiatives Coeur', Foiler) in 8th place. Alan Roura SUI ('La Fabrique', Foiler), now in 17th place, is 209nm in arrear. ----- The race tracker and the reports.
