IMOCA Open 60 Vendee Globe Day 16 Charlie Dalin FRA takes the lead
The weather remains very varied providing for an extraordinary Vendée Globe! Charlie Dalin ('Apivia', Foiler) could sail past Thomas Ruyant FRA ('LinkedOut', Foiler) taking the lead with a 42nm advance this morning UTC. 297nm behind followed Jean Le Cam FRA ('Yes we Cam', Non-Foiler) in 3rd. Boris Herrmann GER ('SeaExplorer', Foiler), best of the day, is also on the way up new on the 5th place with a 42nm backlog, just behind Kevin Escoffier FRA ('PRB', Foiler). Alex Thomson GBR (Hugo Boss' Foiler) was able to finish the repairs resuming the race in 7th place. Samantha Davis GBR ('Initiatives Coeur', Foiler) remains the 10th as best-ranked woman.
