Pushed by the southern trade winds, Thomas Coville FRA crossed the Equator during the past night with his Maxi-Trimaran 'Sodebo'. 2'159 nm (roughly 6 days) is the advantage on the existing record and with only 3'300 nm to sail, he is about to establish a fabulous new record time, provided he will not be hit by an incident.
