The Techno293+ World Championship in Quiberon FRA was concluded yesterday, and for the first time, the Youth boat was equipped with the larger rig and sail as to be used in the 2018 Youth Olympics. The 2017 Worlds were the first nations qualification event for the Youth Games with the first six nations by gender earning a nations' slot.
Giorgia Speciale ITA was the winner in the Girls ahead of Aikaterini Divari GRE and Héloïse Macquart FRA. In the Boys, Fabien Pianazza FRA was first in front of Mathurin Jolivet FRA and Leonidas Tsortanidis GRE.

The ranks of the best North Americans by nation:
- Manuel Nores USA 12th (7th nation) as best of 4 USA boys
- Cristobal Hagerman MEX 33rd as best of 3 MEX boys
- Joanna Diego MEX 32nd as best of 5 MEX girls
