The Final Series at the Trofeo Princesa Sofia continued yesterday on Palma Bay in sun and a classic thermal breeze around 14kn.
In the 470 men, Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS extended their lead on 31 points, while the ranks 2 to 5 are separated by 4 points only. The experienced teams dominated also in the 470 women. Lecointre/Retornaz FRA lead ahead of Mills/McIntyre GBR and Kondo/Yoshioka JPN.
In the 49ers, Fletcher/Bithell GBR defended their lead. New on rank 2 are Frei/ Delpech FRA. The advantage of Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz NED in the 49erFX has grown on 23 points. Nielsen/Thusgaard DEN stay on rank 2.
Already by this evening before tomorrow's Medal Race, Giles Scott GBR will be the winner in the Finns, as his advantage is now up on 37 (!) points. Nicholas Heiner NED and Nils Theuninck SUI are the first persuers. Ruggero Tita/Claudia Banti remained on top of the Nacra-17, but thanks to two race wins, Ben Saxton/Nicola Boniface GBR reduced their backlog on 3 points.
In the RS:X windsurfers, Louis Giard FRA and Lilian de Geus NED keep their first places in the men and women fleets.
