IMOCA Open 60 - The Ocean Race - Leg 3 - Day 10

Wednesday, March 8, 2023
The dynamic weather conditions on the Indian Ocean continued yesterday, and the leading 'Holcim-PRB' (Kevin Escoffier FRA) was again slowed down slightly, allowing 'Biotherm' (Paul Meilhat FRA) to make up a good 100 miles, and is 370 miles behind now. And the fleet is likely to close in even further today, with 'Holcim-PRB' expected to reach another slack zone this morning. 'Guyot Environement' with Benjamin Dutreux FRA/Robert Stanjek GER, who has returned to Cape Town, announced their definite abandonment of Leg 3 after analyzing the structural damage. After repairs, the team will sail directly across the Atlantic to the next leg start in Itajai BRA. ----- The race tracker and the reports.
