Today begins the first event of the ISAF 2012 World Cup of the Olympic Classes in Melbourne AUS. Thanks to the ISAF Olympic Classes World Championships in Perth AUS of early December, Sail Melbourne has a top international attention this year. Racing today is still going on, but first results have already been posted. In the 470 women, the Olympic Champion Elise Rechichi AUS with the new, but not unknown crew Belinda Stowell AUS impresses with a strong comeback, winning both races of the day clearly ahead of Ai Kondo/Wakako Tabata JPN and Amanda Clark/Sarah Lihan USA. McNay/Biehl USA lead the 470 men's fleet in front of Kivell/Ryan AUS and Belcher/Page AUS. The best 49ers are Tuke/Blair NZL. The Laser results have not yet been posted.
