J/70, Star - Winter Series - Monaco MON - Day 1

An initial 8-12 kn West wind, shifting to a 6-8 kn East wind prevailed yesterday during the first races of the Winter Series in Monaco. For the J/70, it is the 5th and final Round of their Winter Championship. Leader after two races is Giacomo Loro-Piana ITA and his team one point ahead of Charlie Esse GBR.
Only 8 Starboat teams are present and completed three races yesterday. Ulrich Vater/Karsten Morf GER are first in the interim's rankings with two race wins, 4 points ahead of Daniel and Beat Stegmeier SUI. Unfortunately, the event website does not inform on the updated Star rankings, but a daily report for both classes has been posted.
Whether racing will be possible today remains open as a 25-35 kn West wind has been announced. .
