49er & 49erFX - European Championship 2018 - Gdynia POL - Final Day - Gold for Spain and Norway

In 8-12 knots of wind yesterday, there was an intense final day for the Olympic skiffs with four more finals and the medal races. In the 49er, Diego Botin / Iago Lopez ESP clinched the title with a 2nd place in the Medal Race 4 points ahead of Dominik Buksak / Szymon Wierzbicki POL. Dylan Fletcher / Stuart Bithell GBR who won the medal race advanced to third.
In the 49erFX Helene Naess / Marie Roningen NOR confidently took the title with 22 points ahead of the winners of the Medal Race Victoria Jurczok / Annika Lorenz GER. In third place are Sophie Weguelin / Sophie Ainsworth GBR. As lightweights, Carla and Maria Munte ESP, the leading juniors, had no chance in the fresher winds and fell back to sixth place overall, but still won the junior's category.
