Olympic Worldcup 2016 Sail Melbourne Melbourne AUS Day 1, the Swiss
The first ISAF Olympic Clases Worldcup event 2016 began this morning in Melbourne. Once more, the concept of ISAF to make the Worldcup the major sail-racing event, did not work, as except the Lasers and Paralymic Classes with their World Chamionships a week ago, the non-OZ-attendance is practically nil.
The frist races today haved already been finished and the first results are already available. Winner of the first Laser Standard heat was Afendy Khairulnizam MAS ahead of Mark Spearman AUS. Christoph Bottoni SUI, the only Swiss in Melbourne, finished 19th among the 35 participants. In the Lasers Radial, Tatiana Droszdowskaja BLR was on rank 1 ahead of Ashley Stoddart AUS.
More results will be published during this morning UTC.
