Trophée Jules Verne - Day 35
Sunday, December 27, 2015
Despite of different strategies, both Maxi-Trimarans lost even more on the record time during the past 24 hours. 'Spindrift' with Yann Guichard FRA and Dona Bertarelli SUI avoided the worst along the Brazilian coast and was 326 miles behind the record this morning. 'IDEC' with Francis Joyon FRA was hit much more, as the fresher winds disappeared and she is now in the influence of the St-Helena anticyclone in the middle of the South Atlantic with a backlog growing on 561 miles up to now. Joyon and his team hope to reach the trade winds earlier to come back successfully. 5'300 miles to be covered in two weeks are left to improve the record. The race tracker with all three yachts.
