Optimist - Coupe International de Printemps - Marseille FRA- Day 1, the Swiss

Yesterday was day one of the well-attended CIP in Marseille and a freshening South-West wind prevailed. The regatta is a World- and European Championship selection event for the Swiss Optimist sailors.
The elder Minimes fleet, split in four Groups, sailed one race in an up to 30 kn breeze. Race winners were Calixte Benoit FRA, Lucas Teillet FRA, Tom Marsan FRA and Alexander Hubmann SUI. Marie Van der Klink SUI finished 4th in her Group and is 13th overall. Achille Casco SUI followed as 5th and is on rank 17 among the 181 ranked Optimists. 120 abandoned the race.
