Good conditions with a 20-25 kn wind prevailed yesterday at the start of the 40 solo-skippers to the classic 'Solitaire' direction Fastnet Rock. The first 20 race hours were rather quick and the fleet had crossed the Channel early this morning already, rounding the first mark off Cowes GBR Charlie Dalin FRA is leading half a mile ahead of Erwan Tabarly FRA, and another 0,3 miles back Vincent Biarnes FRA. Justine Mettraux SUI, is not up to speed yet and with 7 miles backlog, she is among the backmarkers of the fleet.
