The joint 420 and 470 Youth European Championships have been underway on Lake Balaton HUN since Sunday. After the two light-wind races on the opening day, a fresh breeze around 17 kn prevailed yesterday and each class completed three races.
In the 470 Boys, Malte Winkel/Matti Cipra GER and Giacomo Ferrari/Giulio Calabro ITA share the lead at equal points. David Charles/Alex Charles ESP follow on the 3rd place. Kilian Wagen/Grégoire Siegwart SUI follow on rank 13. The 470 Boys results.
Clear leaders in the 470 Girls are the past ISAF Youth Sailing World Champions Benedetta Di Salle/Alessandra Dubbibni ITA. Frederike Loewe/Anna Markfort GER on rank 2 have a 6 points' backlog. Already 17 points is the deficit of the 3rd Noya Ben-Aram/Stav Brokman ISR. The 470 Girls results.
The 420s sail in two age categories. Maxime Bachelin/Arnaud de Planta SUI are first in the 420 U19-rankings, 6 points ahead of Athanasopoulos/Tassios GRE. Lauber/Tétaz SUI are on the 25th place. Racing will continue today split in a Gold- and Silverfleet.
First in the 420 U17-rankings are Tommaso Cilli/Bruno Mantero ITA 3 points ahead of Daniel Göttlich/Linus Klasen GER. Already 19 points back are Vita Heathcote/Milly Boyle GBR on rank 3. Sophie Mosegard/Samira Rast SUI are 32nd among the 38 teams.
