Laser 4.7 - Youth World Championship 2016 - Kiel GER - Final results, the Swiss

A fresh 20 kn breeze prevailed in Kiel GER yesterday during the final races of the Laser 4.7 World Championship.
Racing was very close in the Boys. The leader Emilio Gallinaro ITA won the first race of the day and was close to the champion's title. But Dimitrios Papadimitriou GRE did not give in and won the second race, while Gallinaro ITA sailed his discard result. The Greek herewith moved on top of the rankings and grasped the title with a one point advantage. Bronze went to Pere Ponseti ESP. Matt Keller SUI finished 31st, Giona Renggli SUI 33rd and Gauthier Verhulst SUI 43rd among the 256 participants. Greek was the victory also in the U16 with Emilios Monos GRE ahead of Finn O’Dea AUS and Pep Cazador ESP.
Emma Savelon NED is the new World Champion in the 4.7 Girls. Finishing twice as 7th was good enough to remain on top. Mariia Kislukhina RUS won both races and replaced the tied Elisa Navoni ITA on rank 2. First in the U16-rankings of the Girls is Wiktoria Lehmann POL ahead of Ana Moncada ESP and Matilda Nicholls GBR. Olivia Habegger SUI finished 4th in the Silverfleet and advanced on rank 86 overall. Rosine Baudet SUI is on the 97th place among the 125 participants.
