Star Eastern Hemisphere Championship 2016 Split CRO Day 2, the Swiss
Two races were sailed at the Star Eastern Hemisphere Championship off Split CRO in sun and a perfect seabreeze of 15-18 kn. Hubert Merkelbach/Sergio Lambertenghi GER/ITA coped the best with the fresher conditions and finishing twice on rank 2, they moved up on rank 4 overall. The race winners were Hornos/Revkin USA and Arapov/Sitic CRO. In the overall rankings, the World Champion Augie Diaz USA with Henry Boening USA as crew remains on first, but Arapov/Sitic CRO are only 2 points behind. New on rank 3 are Hornos/Rivkin USA. Jean-Pascal Chatagny/Serge Pulfer SUI continued with a top performance and are now on the 6th place overall. Wargnier/Guidoux SUI however dropped on the 17th place. With race 5 today - again live with GPS-tracking - the discard will become effective and major position changes can be expected. The Laser Olympic Silver Medlist Toni Stipanovic CRO e.g., on rank 12 overall with a premature start penalty in race 1, will definitely jump on a top position, provided he will have a successful race day today.
The report with results.
