The elimination race on the South Indian Ocean continues. In the severest collision with flotsam so far, Kito de Pavant FRA damaged the suspension of the canting keel massively causing a leak in the hull. During the past night, the French Marine evaquated de Pavant from his Open60. Eric Bellion FRA sailing on the 18th position capsized after being hit by a 50 kn gust, loosing one of the rudders. Hew is now heading North looking for a sheltered place to repair the damage. The rest of the fleet continues the race direction East. Armel Le Cléac'h FRA had a 112 nm advantage on Alex Thompson GBR this morning. Alan Roura SUI moves up the rankings after the various equipment incidents of some competitors and is now on the 19th place with the possibility to advance two positions today.
