IMOCA Open 60 - Vendée Globe 2016/17 - Day 41, Alan Roura SUI

Alex Thompson GBR on his northerly course is still fighting with variable light winds, sometimes even requiring upwind sailing. The leader Armel Le Cléac'h FRA however is enjoying a well established rear wind heading directly to Cape Horn. His lead in Thompson this morning was 410 nm. The duel behind for the ranks 3 and 4 remains tight with Jérémy Beyou FRA only 14 nm ahead of Paul Meilhat FRA. Alan Roura SUI remains on rank 16 and will round Cape Leeuwin AUS tomorrow.
