The Qualification Series for the Gold and Silverfleets at the Trofeo Princesa Sofia were concluded yesterday in a classic Palma Bay moderate 12-15 kn seabreeze.
Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI was again among the best RS:X men windsurfers with the ranks 1 and 4. and moved up on rank 4 overall. Inspite of an 11 points' deficit on rank 3, he is a hot candidate for a Medal. Well performing are also Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI now on rank 6 in the 470 women only 8 points behind the leaders. The Goldfleet cut made also Sébastien Schneiter/Lucien Cujean SUI (rank 21) in the 49ers. The Lasers sailed already their first Final races. Maud Jayet SUI advanced on rank 27 overall in the Goldfleet, thanks to a 10th race rank. Andrea Nordquist SUI, also in the Goldfleet, is 55th. The 470 development boats Kilian Wagen/Joan Herp SUI/ESP (rank 33) and David Biedermann/Jann Schüpbach SUI (rank 44) missed the Goldfleet, as did Nils Theuninck SUI in his first international Finn regatta.
