All classes concluded the Qualification or Final Series - some of them testing new formats - to determine the participants of today's Medal Races.
In the Finns, the leading duo of the Qualifications plus the best three of the ranks 3-8 sailing a Repechage will fight for the Medals, i.e. Alican Kaynar TUR, Deniss Karpak EST, Max Salminen SWE, Zsombor Berecz HUN and Nick Heiner NED. The Top Ten of the RS:X-Windsurfers sail Quarter- and Semi Finals with the best three sailing a Final for the Medals. In some classes, the winners all prematurely known already: Victoria Jurczok/Anika Lorenz GER cannot loose their first place in the three Medal Races of the 49ersFX, and the same is true for Fernando Echevarri/Tara Pacheco ESP in the Nacra-17.
In the 470 men however, the outcome is still open with Fock/Dackhammar SWE in pole position 5 points ahead of Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP and 9 points ahead of Isozaki/Takayanagi JPN. Also 5 points in the lead are Afrodite Zegers/Anneloes Van Veen NED in the 470 women ahead of Skrzypulec/Ogar POL and 8 points in front of Mas-Depares /Cantero ESP. In the 49ers, Sterritt/Peters GBR are only one point ahead of Diego Botin/Iago Lopez ESP.
For the Qualification Series winners in the RS:X windsurfers, Ivan Pastor ESP and Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL, the competition will recommence according to the new test format with the 10 drivers qualified for the Medal Race at zero points.
