49er, 49erFX - European Championship 2017 - Kiel GER - Day 1, the Swiss

The Olympic skiffs European Championship in Kiel began yesterday in thundery weather and 12-25 kn wind. The experienced teams took the command in these difficult conditions.
First after races of the 49ers are Dylan Fletcher/Stuart Bithell GBR one point ahead of the tied Benjamin Bildstein/David Hussl AUT and Jack Hawkins/Chris Thomas GBR. Sébastien Schneiter/Lucien Cujean SUI had a good day and with a race win, they are on the 17th place overall. Chris Rast SUI/Trevor Burd USA follow on rank 34. The two Swiss development teams had a hard day in their first international championship and are on the positions 81 (Maxime Bachelin/Arnaud de Planta SUI) and 88 (Max Haenssler/Fred Haenssler SUI).
The leaders in the 49erFX are the Olympic Bronze medalists Jena Mai-Nasen/Saskia Salkov DEN with two race wins. Annemiek Bekkering/Cecile Janmaat NED and Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR follow on the ranks 2 and 3. Livia Naef/Nelia Puhze SUI are 63rd.
