49er, 49erFX - World Championship 2017 - Matosinhos POR - Day 1, the Swiss

The 84 men's teams from 27 nations and 4 continents as well as the 56 women's teams from 25 nations waited in vain for wind on the first day of the joint World Championship ot the Olympic 49er skiffs. With the dominators of the past decade - Burling/Tuke NZL, Outteridge/Jenkins AUS or Martinez/Fernandez ESP - missing, new names will show up to take the heritage of those big names. Switzerland is represented by the Olympians Sébastien Schneiter/Lucien Cujean SUI in the 49er and Livia Naef/Nelia Puhze SUI in the 49erFX. Among the participants is also Chris Rast SUI/USA who started an Olympic campaign together with Trevor Burk USA as members of the US Sailing Team.
