Laser - Olympic Worldcup 2017/18 - Gamagori JPN - Final results, the Swiss
Sunday, October 22, 2017
The first Act of the Olympic Classes 2017/18 Worldcup in Japan ended this morning UTC with the Medal Races held in rain and light, but very shifty winds.
Finishing 4th, Sam Meech NZL defended his overall lead in the Lasers Standard, as the World Champion Pavlos Kontides CYP was apparently not aggressive enough finishing on on 7th today remaining 2nd overall. Tom Burton AUS won the race and climbed on rank 3 taking Bronze.
In the Lasers Radial, the leading Vasileia Karachaliou GRE eliminated herself from the podium producing a premature start. Rank 4 at equal points with the 3rd was the consequence. The Olympic Bronze medalist Anne-Marie Rindom DEN inherited the first place ahead of Emma Plaesschart BEL. Josefin Olsson SWE moved up on rank 3.
Andrea Nordquist SUI finished the competition on rank 23, Maud Jayet SUI had to content herself with the 35th position. Erika Reineke USA finished 6th in the Medal Race and 5th overall.
All ranking lists.
