420 - World Championship 2017 - Fremantle AUS - Day 2, the Swiss

The 420 World Championship began in Western Australia yesterday in fresh winds around 20kn. The U17 fleet and the Girls completed two races each, the Open fleet only one heat. The second one had to be abandonded because of a drifting buoy.
Enrique and Pablo Lujan ESP and Chris Cherwood/Josh Dawson AUS were the winners in the Boys' fleet, split in two groups. Balanger/ Tallieu FRA and Ferrer/De Maqua ESP followed at equal points on rank 3. Nick Zeltner/Till Seger SUI finished 10th in their group an are on the 19th place overall. Morgan Lauber/Léo Tétaz SUI follow on the 33rd position among the 64 teams.
Nia Jerwod/Monique De Vries AUS finished first in both races of the Girls ahead of Laura Harding/Eleanor Grimshaw AUS on 2nd. Solène Mariani/Maude Schmid SUI had a good first day twice on rank 8 and 8th overall as well.
In the U17 rankings, Florian Buscher/Martin Buscher GER dominated with two race wins. Salvetta/Sarini ITA followed on rank 2 with a 3 points' backlog. Sophie Mosegaard/Samira Rast SUI are 14th and third-best Girls' team.
