30 years after winning Gold at the 1988 Games in Korea, Jörgen and Jacob-Bojsen-Möller DEN secured their 9th World Champions' title in the former Olympic FD Class at Medemblik, winning 7 of the 9 races. On rank 2 followed Szabolcs Majtheniy/Andras Domokos HUN, Bronze went to Nicola and Francesco Vespasiani ITA. Christoph Baumann/Michael Koller SUI, the only Swiss among the 74 teams from 13 nations and 2 continents finished 51.
