The two leading Ultime-Trimarans are making good progress in the well-established trade winds and are expected to arrive in Pointe-à-Pitre/Gouadeloupe FRA by Sunday already. François Gabart FRA ('Macif') had 956nm to go this morning UTC, Francis Joyon FRA followed 113nm behind.
The two leading Multi-50-Trimarans of Thibault Vauchel-Camus FRA and Erwan Le Roux FRA were both forced to a repair stop on the Acores. Armel Tripon FRA is the new leader.
Alex Thomson GBR is still clearly ahead in the Open 60 with Paul Meilhat FRA news on rank 2 with a 56nm backlog. Boris Herrmann GER was slowed down in his attack going West and is now on rank 3. Alan Roura SUI stays on the 7th place with a 338nm deficit.
In the Class 40, the sequence on top is unchanged but the gaps between the boats have grown. Yoann Richomme FRA is first 66nm ahead of Phil Sharp GBR. Aymeric Chappellier FRA followed another 11nm behind. Jacques Valente SUI is still in La Coruña for a repair stop, and it remains open, whether he will be able to continue the race.
