The 6th edition of the RORC Transatlantic Race got underway off Lanzarote ESP yesterday at 1100 UTC in a stiff breeze gusting up to 25 knots. ----- 'Childhood 1', the VOR65 skippered by Bouwe Bekking NED had an ideal start leading 22nm ahead of the Wally 100 'Dark Shadow' of Yerin Hobson FRA, the largest yacht in the fleet, and 37nm ahead of Lombard 46 'Pata Negra' of Giles Redpath GBR this morning 0400 UTC. ----- The 47.4 'Kali' skippered by Benedikt Clauberg SUI was on rank 5 with a 60nm backlog. ----- The race tracker and the event website.
