Optimist - Lake Garda Meeting - Riva ITA - Day 1 - Country Cup - the Swiss

The Opti-Meeting 2021 postponed from Easter due to Corona started yesterday on Lake Garda. With 674 participants from 20 nations, the fleet is not quite as large as in previous years. As always, the series started yesterday with the Country Cup, in which one participant per country is allowed. Three heats were sailed in rain and moderate winds. ----- John-Frederik Wolff DEN won with 2 race victories 2 points ahead of Erik Scheidt LTU in second place. Weka Banubandh THA is in third place. ----- Simon Mille SUI started for Switzerland and finished in a good 5th place out of the 19 nations. ----- The ranking list.
