Class 40 - Transat Jacques Vabre - Day 17

Flat conditions at the finish ! This morning the leading Xavier Macaire/Pierre Leboucher FRA were still 270 miles short of the finish line. Normally a 24-hour distance for the Class 40, but at the moment they are only travelling at a speed of 1.9 knots. 67 miles behind them, Ian Lipinski POL/Antoine Carpantier FRA are the only team in the leading group to reach a 'normal' speed of 16 knots, but not for long. The southern group, led by Ambrogio Beccaria/Nicolas Andrieu FRA (73 miles behind) has already slowed down to 6 knots. In view of the conditions, a decision will probably not be made until tomorrow.
