470 - World Championship 2024 - El Arenal ESP - Day 5

Sunday, March 3, 2024
Fresh southerly winds around 20 knots and big waves ensured a spectacular regatta day on Palma Bay yesterday, and a shake-up in the classification. ----- While the Japanese teams struggled, Jordi Xammar/Nora Brugman ESP took the lead and go into today's Medal Race with an 11-point lead. New in second place are Vita Heathcote/Chris Grube GBR, while Keiju Okada/Miho Yoshioka JPN have dropped back to third place and, with a 16-point deficit, are unlikely to have any chance of successfully defending their title. Simon Diesch/Anna Markfort GER are 4th, 3 points behind a medal. Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler SUI finish the World Championships in 20th place. ----- The ranking list and the daily report.
