18Footer JJ Giltinan Trophy Sydney AUS Race 4
Turbulent was race 3 of the inofficial 18-Footer Worlds on Sydney Harbour yesterday. In lull conditions, the teams decided to mount the big rigs and were taken by surprise with a heavy rain front rushing over the race course. Capsizes all over the place and broken masts were the consequence. Finally, the race had to be shorten as the wind almost disappeared.

The news.
This morning, race 4 of the 7 heats' series was on the program. In a light winds, the winner was 'Thurlow Fisher Lawyers' extending their overall lead on the defending champion 'Smeg' to 9 points. The winner of the first two races, 'Yamaha' NZL, on rank 5 today, was granted redress points for the abandoned race 3, i.e. average points at the end of the series.
