The final race of the 2017 JJ Giltinan Championship was held in a variable moderate to fresh autumn breeze on Sydney Harbour splitting the fleet considerably. A class of her own was again 'Yahama' with David McDiarmid NZL grasping the 4th win in 7 races. But this was not enough for the title, as - after discarding the abandoned race - they still had a 19th place after a failed start on the results sheet. After a long row of JJ Giltinan runner-up results, 'Thurlow Fisher Lawyers' (Michael Coxon/Trent Barnabas/Dave O'Connor AUS) finally earned her third Championship title, confirming the consistent performance with a 2nd race rank today and a 5th place as discard. 'Coopers Rag & Famish' with Jack McCartney AUS defended her 2nd overall place. 'Yahama' NZL as 3rd advanced on the podium ahead of her compatriots 'C-Tech' of Alex Vallings NZL at equal points.
