49er - Olympic Games 2021 - Enoshima JPN

Thursday, July 22, 2021
For years, the 49er class has been dominated by experienced teams. In Enoshima, too, the way to victory leads over Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL, two-time Olympic medallists (silver 2012, gold 2016) and x-time world champions. Due to their participation in the America's Cup, the two have not been so present on the 49er circuit in recent years, but on their return, they have put themselves right back in front. Their first challengers will probably be Diego Botin/Iago Lopez ESP, who have always sailed for victory this season. Erik Heil/Thomas Plössel GER (bronze in Rio 2016), Benjamin Bildstein/David Hussl AUT or Dylan Fletcher/Stuart Bithell GBR also have medal chances. ----- The video preview.
