The 6th Olympic sailing day was held in the lightest winds so far. However, the complete program was sailed in 5-8 knots. ----- Matthew Wearn AUS earned prematurily Gold in the ILCA 7 even before the medal race. With a lead of 22 points, he cannot be caught in the final heat. Behind the leader, the race will be close: The ranks 2-6 are only separated by 15 points. ----- In the ILCA 6, Anne-Marie Rindom DEN has lost some of her advantage. But with a 7-point deficit, it will be difficult for Marit Bouwmeester NED to repeat her 2016 Olympic victory. The ranks 3 (Josefin Olsson SWE) to 7 are only 8 points apart. ----- After 9 of 12 qualifying races, three teams are tied at the top in the 49ers: Dylan Fletcher/Stuart Bithell GBR, Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL and Diego Botin/Iago Lopez ESP. ----- There was also a merger at the top of the 49ersFX, as the previous leaders Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR struggled with the light winds and dropped back to fourth. New leaders are Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz NED, followed one point behind by Tamara Echegoyen/Paula Barcelo ESP in 2nd, and, another 7 points back, Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA in 3rd. ----- After 6 of 10 qualifying races sailed, Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS now lead the 470 Men over Luke Patience/Chris Grube GBR by 11 points. Paul Snow-Hansen/Daniel Willcox NZL are still in 3rd. ----- Agnieszca Szkrzypulec/Jolanta Ogar POL maintained their lead in the 470 Women with one more race win. Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR follow 4 points behind. Another 3 points back are Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA in 3rd. ----- All rankings and the reports.
