While the top quartet of Protos managed to round Cape Finisterre yesterday and pull away with rear winds, the remaining 85 competitors were left in a lull. Today, a strong front from the west with around 50kn will reach the fleet, prompting the participants to head for a sheltering harbour - the report. ----- Story of the day was the attack of an orca on Gaël Ledoux FRA, leading in the series minis. Since 2020, more than 200 whale attacks on sailing yachts have been recorded in the area. Ledoux escaped with no damage - the report. ----- The leading quartet is now 400 miles ahead and will decide the leg victory among themselves. Pierre Leroy FRA is still in the lead, Tanguy Bourroullec FRA could close the gap to 13 miles. Fabio Muzzulini FRA follows in 3rd place, 48 miles behind, while Irina Gracheva RUS has lost some ground and is 101 miles back. ----- The race-tracker and the all news.
