Persico 69, J/70, Melges 24 - Winter Series - Miami FL, USA - Day 1

The Winter Series for J/70s, Melges 24s, and, for the first time, the foiling Persico 69 began yesterday in Miami in light winds. ----- After three races, Bobby Julien USA and his team took the lead in the J/70 one point ahead of Richard Witzel USA, with 25 teams from 5 nations competing. ----- The Melges 24 classification is led by Peter Duncan USA, with Bora Gulari USA second, 6 points behind. ----- Despite light winds, the Persicos came flying. After 6 races (one race lasts about 8 min !), the 49er Olympic Champion 2008 Jonas Warrer DEN and his team are leading just ahead of Sébastien Schneiter SUI, who is racing with - among others - the 470 Olympic medalist Stuart Bithell GBR. ----- The report with rankings and the event website.
