Figaro 3 - La Solitaire - Nantes FRA - Leg 1 - Day 3 - Nils Palmieri SUI in the lead

The calm conditions in the Irish Sea yesterday prompted the race organisers to shorten the course of the first leg by about 100 miles. Bishop Rock was rounded as the new northern turning point. ----- Tom Laperche FRA was first, just ahead of Tom Dolan GBR. Rounding 3rd was Basile Bourgnon FRA, who was the only one to round the exclusion zones on the south-west tip of England to the west, catching up with the leading duo. After rounding, it was Nils Palmieri SUI who was the first to choose a more easterly course where fresher winds carried him to 1st. This morning, he was in front of the small group passing the exclusion zone landside. His lead over Jules Delpech FRA is 0.3 miles. ----- The race-tracker and the reports.
