SSL47 - Gold-Cup, 1/4-Finals - Gran Canaria ESP - Day 3

Intense day at the Gold Cup yesterday: At 8-10 knots, the two races cancelled on Tuesday were made up for and the 3rd round was sailed for all four fleets. Before today's double-counting final race, the situation in all four groups is exciting, with the first two in each group going through to the semi-finals. In Group 1, Great Britain won for the third time and goes into the race with a 5-point lead over Malaysia and a 6-point lead over France. In Group 2, Hungary won the first race of the day and took the lead. As the best team of the day with 2nd and 1st place, Germany moved up to 2nd place, followed by the Dutch in 3rd place with the same number of points. In Group 3, Spain won again and leads with a 3-point lead over Italy and Switzerland, who finished yesterday's race in 2nd place. In Group 4, Brazil leads with a 2-point lead over Australia, Portugal (3 points behind) and New Zealand still remain in the race. We will be broadcasting live again from 11.15am CET.
